September 30, 2026 Bor Town, Jonglei State, South Sudan

Children of the Nile successfully held its first basketball camp in Bor Town, bringing young people together for a memorable day of basketball, learning, teamwork, and community.

On September 26, 2026, Children of the Nile successfully held its first Basketball Camp in Bor Town, Jonglei State, South Sudan.

Our first camp was a great success and marked an important moment for Children
of the Nile and the young people who joined us.

The camp brought young people together to play, learn, develop their basketball skills, build confidence, and connect with one another through the game they love.

Seeing so many young people come together with energy, enthusiasm, and a shared passion for basketball reminded us why initiatives like this matter. Sport has the power to bring communities together while teaching important values such as discipline, teamwork, leadership, resilience, and respect.

Participants were also able to receive shoes and other resources to support them both on and off the court.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make our first camp possible.

Our sincere appreciation goes to Solid Skills Sports Academy, the Jonglei State Basketball Association, Bor Community Youth Association, and the South Sudanese Basketball Federation for their support and contribution to the success of the camp.

We also extend our gratitude to the University of Arizona and the Tucson community for donating shoes and providing resources that helped us bring this initiative to life.

Most importantly, we thank every young person who participated. Your energy, enthusiasm, dedication, and love for the game made this camp special.

This was our first basketball camp, and we hope it is only the beginning of many more opportunities to support, inspire, and empower young people in our communities.

Children of the Nile remains committed to creating opportunities where children and young people can learn, grow, connect, and discover their potential.
